I got an email back from the guys at Sony. I need to phone up their helpline where they will guide me through “a detailed troubleshooting procedure to identify the nature of the fault”. I know what the nature of the fault is. The Blu-Ray drive doesn’t work. I thought I made that fairly clear in my initial, and I fail to see how they’ll be able to get any further with a “detailed troubleshooting procedure”. I mean, what are they going to get me to do?
“Put a disk in. Does it read it?”
“No.”
“Then your Blu-Ray drive isn’t working.”
“Yeah, thanks for that.”
I’m also seriously considering getting an Xbox 360. Shock horror, with me having pretty much grown up with, until recently, pretty much nothing but PlayStation. thing is, I don’t want to spent too much money. My parents have been nice and said they’d be willing to put some money towards it. But after buying the console, a few games, an extra controller, an Xbox Live subscription and a massive Ethernet cable (Hell if I’m paying like £40 for a shitty wireless adaptor), that’s a lot of dough. I also REALLY want an Elite one as well. Because it’s black. And the black ones like awesome, whereas the rest, with their pale silvery-grey just look a little… meh.
But I’m torn. I can get an Elite, with Fable II and Fallout 3 for £250 from Play. Or a 60GB one with Gears of War 1, 2 and Fallout 3 for £200. Argh, it’s like Sophie’s Choice.
Anybody got any suggestion, or know any good deals? UK ones only, mind.
I also had a mock Software Development assessment on College yesterday. I got 16 out of 22, which isn’t bad considering a good few of the questions where things that our lecturer had only really mentioned in passing a few weeks before. I could do with brushing on on system and unit testing as well.
Oh, and I’ve also messed around with the style a little bit.
Cheery-bye.
Diana Says:
The silvery ones do look meh. I don’t know what to suggest otherwise though, sorry, I know nothing about video game consoles. I would buy the silvery one and hide it from my sight.
That guy from Sony sounds smart
Kaylee Says:
Lmao @ Sophie’s choice.
The only thing I can say is don’t just get the Elite one because it looks nicer, because when you’re playing games, I should hope that you’ll be looking at the screen and not the console
Stepherz Says:
That sucks. Systems are expensive.
Minmin Says:
Oh damnit. There was a great Xbox 360 offer on Amazon where you the Pro is 159 then you can get a game + controller bundle free + 10 pounds for fable II (last week). And there was a deal in Argos too… but that ended yesterday.
Jem Says:
Ahh, nice, the navigation is better now.
