Remember that job interview I posted about earlier? Well, turns out I got the job! I got a phone call this afternoon from the guy that interviewed me telling me that I was successful! Not sure when I’m gonna start though. I need to go in on Wednesday to get all the details sorted out.
Woo! Some income at last. Shame I get paid monthly though. I could do with some money for buying Christmas presents and I doubt my first monthly wage will be in time, or at the very least, it’ll be cutting it pretty short. Oh well. Can’t really be helped.
I’ve also got two assessments tomorrow in college as well, which I totally forgot about until a friend of mine reminded me about an hour ago. One in Software Development and one in Computer Architecture. I should be alright in the SD one, but the other… ehh… probably not so. Gonna have to do a bit of last minute revision.
To psyche myself up for getting an Xbox 360 at Christmas, I’ve been playing a lot more of the original Xbox games I’ve gotten the past few months. I got an original Xbox on my birthday, and I bought a shit-load of games, but I’ve not really played any of them extensively. The past couple of days, I’ve been playing through Halo 2. Fantastic game. Shit ending. They might as well have put up a notice at the end saying “Game over. To be continued. Now you have to wait another 3 agonising years.” At least I only have to wait about a month, since Halo 3 will be one of the first game I’ll be getting when I get a 360. Not so much for the story, but just to see what all the fuss is about the multiplayer. According to Yahtzee, the single player ain’t so great.
Jem Says:
Congratulations! Shame about the wage thing, but then you could always give out I.O.Us for christmas and buy pressies in the January sales
Vera Says:
Congrats on getting the job. Not all of you get payed monthly? We do here… or well… most people do, at any rate.
Good luck for the assessments. Comp Architecture was such a drag. I loved the lecture, but not the actual “let’s write some assembly” part. Good luck on it!
As for the Christmas shopping… you could always get some last minute deals maybe… or you don’t have such things?
Joe Says:
@Vera: Monthly tends to be the standard, but I know a few people who are paid every two weeks.
Diana Says:
Congratulations!!! I’m sorry you can’t buy Christmas presents though ;___;
Kaylee Says:
Yay for getting a job! Good luck with your assessments
Allee Says:
Awsum :P.
Though, I can’t imagine being paid monthly. Thank god the standard here in Canada is bi-weekly. Even better with my new employer, as I’m getting paid weekly :P.
Clive Says:
Congrats Joe!
