This is my nth blog. I’ve had so many I’ve lost count. AWSUM.org.uk is also the third unique domain name I’ve used for my blog (the others being drunken-valkyrie.net and joeleslie.co.uk). So, it’s had quite a few face lifts over the past few years.

Pro-tip: You can also use the domain awsum.info (as well as the other two mentioned before) to access this site.

I’m not going to bore you with a long history of my website endeavors in the past, except to say, like most people, I’ve been through the GeoCities, Freewebs, weborexia and celebrity layout stages. Now I’m all about W3C standards baby!

This domain was bought on Wednesday, the 12th of November 2008, from 1and1 (awsum.info was bought from GoDaddy on the same day - I got it for something stupid like 76p). The site is currently hosted by Surpass hosting, who I’ve been hosted with for over a year. I’ve never had any problems with them, so I would heartily recommend them.

So, where did “AWSUM” come from? I don’t know really. I case you’re stupid enough not to have realised, it’s a shorter, almost txt spk-like spelling of “awesome”. I hate txt-spk, and avoid whenever possible. I only ever use it sarcastically or ironically. I’m a fairly sarcastic person, so perhaps that’s where it comes from.

Or perhaps it was because I genuinely broke out in laughter when a friend of mine once went “OMG AWSUM!!” over IM.

Who knows.
