Well, I think it was unanimously believed that the smaller sidebar I showed you was much better than the big one I have now. So I’ve now changed over to that. I’ve also added the two new themes - Licorice and Strawnana - for you to use as well. Feedback on the site is also appreciated, as always. What’s good, what’s not so good, what could be improved, what could be added, etc.
I have an eye screening tomorrow. Because of my diabetes, I have to have this procedure done once a year. Apparently, diabetes can cause damage to your eyes in the long run, so these screenings are done obviously to try and catch it early if it does happen.
I have to go to the hospital, and do a standard eye test - read letters from a chart whilst covering one of my eyes, then repeat for the other eye. Then, they need to take photographs of my eyes. So I basically have to sit in front of a MASSIVE camera, my eyeballs no more than a few centimeters from the lens, then they take a couple of photos.
Flash and all.
That’s not nice. Although I’ve gotten a little used to it the past four years, it’s still not a particularly pleasant experience. I was temporarily blinded the first time it happened, and even now, it still leaves me a little dazed and sensitive to light. Stepping outside after I’ve had it done is not nice.
Anyway, that’s all tomorrow, at about 11am. Which means I have to actually get up! And on my first day off of the week as well! Hmph.

Ooh,I think you just described my yearly trips to the eye doctor also coz I am a glasses-wearer… costs so much! Specially for a poor (or actually overdrawn) student!
I like your layout~
specially where you can choose what “flavour”, think that’s pretty neat~ ^^
Jem Says:
Karl (my better half) had the photo of his eyes done on his last appointment at the opticians. He made it sound quite exciting… you make it sound like torture o.O
Joe Says:
Heh.
I guess I’m not the kind of person who likes being led into a dark room to have incredibly bright lights flashed into their eyes.
Rima Says:
I had to go to eye screening until the age of 13, I guess. That’s when my eyes somewhat “healed” and didn’t need to wear contact lenses anymore. o.O It was wierd.
But yeah, I had a hard time getting used to lights after the control, too. Even now! (But that’s probably because people with blue eyes are more sensitive to light.)
Found your blog today, it’s really neat. (: The blue colour could be a bit darker, though!
Diana Says:
That does sound horrible. And ouchy D: I’ve never had it done, but have you ever had that thing where they get a machine to…blow some air in your eye?
They call it a kiss at my optometrist’s office, luls.
Joe Says:
@Rima: Ooh, that is weird indeed. And yeah, the blue is a little bright. I’ll probably get round to darkening it at some point.
@Diana: What that… ? That sounds awful! But then again, I’ve always been a bit squeamish when it comes to things like that…
Clive Says:
Is the title of this post supposed to sound a bit dirty or is it just me?
Just me?
Joe Says:
No, I was aiming for some winter-based innuendo. Glad someone picked up on it.
Clive Says:
Filth!
